Beaverton : Oregon

The City of Beaverton is located seven miles west of Portland (Oregon) in the Tualatin River Valley. The city covers a total area of 16.3 mi² (42.3 km²), none of which is covered withwater.
The City has a vast amount of "Green Space" with over 100 parks encompassing 1,000 acres. Beaverton is a city in Washington County, in the Portland-Vancouver metro area and named for a nearby beaver dam.

Weather

Although the Pacific Northwest is known for wet winters, Beaverton averages only 36 inches of rain per year. During the dry months, it receives less than 5 inches of rainfall.
The average temperature in the summer is 80 degrees F.
In the wintertime, it is not uncommon to experience minor snowfalls of a couple of inches, but major snowfall occurrences are rare.
