Oregon : Tourist's Hot Spots

Oregon’s landscape shares the region with exotic coastline, evergreen forests, deserts, volcanoes and glaciers. It has variety of recreational activities, historical places, shopping centers, parks, rivers, and gardens. Some of the important attractions of this region include Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), Oregon Zoo and the Portland Children’s Museum, and Portland Classical Chinese Garden.

Portland:
The city is the great land to spend the vacations as it offers some rare exotic spots within the state with a mix of cultural scenery. Set amidst the natural beauty of northwest Oregon and laced with parks and gardens, Portland is aptly known as the “City of Roses”.
  • Washington Park: It is a huge complex of parks that contains numerous features of interests. International Rose Test Garden is the main attraction here, where 400 types of rose including many rare and new varieties of roses are grown. Other attraction is Japanese and the Hoyt Arboretum.
  • Oregon History Center: It is the state’s prime historic museum that exhibits several objects from history of Oregon on permanent display.
  • Classical Chinese Garden: It contains rocks, plants and gardens and a lake on about 40,000 square feet of land in central Portland.
Crater Lake National Park: The most impressive location in the state Oregon that offers some rare and unbelievable visiting, hiking and skiing trails and its primary feature is Crater Lake. The whole Park is surrounded by scenic drives all over the island and encompasses the area which rests in the remains of a destroyed volcano and surrounding by forestland and hills. This is the only National Park in Oregon.

Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area: Behind Florence begins the magnificent dune landscape of Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Then it suddenly becomes noisy again, as the area around Coos Bay has the largest settlement on the coast. Leaving this behind, we soon see the Cape Blanco lighthouse, built in 1878, and then drive along what is probably the most beautiful section of the coast road, to Gold Beach.
